    We’re hiring: can you sell?

    About us
Cutbot is an Edinburgh-based startup, offering online media monitoring services and soon to offer public affairs and social media monitoring as well. Our servers scan more than 1.5 million articles a week, looking for just the stories our clients care about, assembling the results as a briefing they can edit, and managing their mailing lists for them. We have a small but impressive list of clients from the public, private and voluntary sectors, but we need to expand that list substantially, which is why we’re hiring. This is an opportunity for the right people to get in early and make themselves indispensable as the company grows and evolves.

    About you
Above all, you’ve got good sales experience, ideally selling high-value services to business. Perhaps you’re even familiar with the media monitoring sector or have contacts in the PR or public affairs worlds. You’re happy to manage your own time and to be organised and efficient. You must be professional, ambitious, web-literate, personable, warm, and persistent. You must also not be shy about making contact with busy press and public affairs teams.

    The role and conditions
We would expect you largely to work from home (in addition to meetings with the team and with clients), probably either in Edinburgh, Glasgow or London. We’ll share the work of finding potential clients to contact with you, and you will have consistent support from our technical and commercial directors, who will also come to pitch meetings with you where appropriate. After an initial six-week period, which will include familiarisation and training for our systems, this contract will be renewed and paid entirely according to results, working on a generous commission basis.

    To apply
Please email a covering letter and CV to the address below. Please also include no more than 400 words on why organisations need this kind of media and Parliamentary monitoring, what you believe they should be looking for in such a service, and how you think we should be selling to potential clients. If you have any questions, please get in touch with James.
